How do Artificial Intelligence and Energy belong together?
Shownotes
Whether in automotive engineering, retail, online navigation or road traffic - artificial intelligence (AI) is already being used in many areas of the economy and society. This key technology is becoming increasingly powerful and is successfully opening up more and more areas of application. AI can also make an important contribution in the fight against climate change. But how do AI and energy conservation fit together when the application and energy consumption of AI systems continues to increase? In a new episode of the HPI science podcast "Neuland", AI experts Prof. Ralf Herbrich, Managing Director of the Hasso Plattner Institute and Head of the Department "AI and Sustainability" at HPI, and Robert Williamson, Professor of "Foundations of Machine Learning" at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, talk about the potential applications of AI in the fight against climate change and how AI can become more energy efficient.
